Disclosure: I am being compensated with Door To Door Organics products to try in exchange for providing my honest opinion about their products and service. All opinions remain my own.
This recipe was inspired by my recent introduction to the fabulous Door To Door Organics that I had the ultimate pleasure of testing out. I wanted to find a recipe that my family loved but also, one that I can use many, if not all, products from Door To Door Organics. I do believe I found the best recipe for busy parents using products that are most, if not all organic in nature. You’re probably wondering if it really tastes that good, and I am here to tell you, yes, yes it does taste that good! My kids love tacos almost as equally as they love pasta, so why not mix them both together for the ultimate kid-friendly meal?
Before I get to the Taco Pasta Bake, I must, must, show you the salad I made using nothing but Door To Door Organics products! I did use my own salad dressing, but look at this masterpiece! It looked so amazing I really didn’t want to eat it, but I did! My son even commented on how good the salad was. I was shocked! He normally doesn’t eat a salad, only on rare occasions and well, I guess this was a rare occasion because he couldn’t stop talking about it and saying it was the best salad he’s ever had.
We used Door To Door Organics: Romaine Lettuce, Cucumber, Red Onion, Tomato, and Block Cheddar Cheese that we shredded. Everything was so bright and colorful and it tasted even better than it looks! Delish! I can’t wait to get my salad items again with my next shipment!
I still can’t get over how good that salad looks. But, I must get on to the main course. The Taco Pasta Bake. Here ya go! Doesn’t that look yummy too? The only thing that was not a Door To Door Organics product was the chives that I had used from my garden. Other than that…all products sent direct to my door!
So, you want to know how to make it now?
Ingredients:
1 pounds ground beef
1 onion – chopped
3/4 cups of water
1 package of Taco Seasoning
1 (15oz) can of tomato sauce
1 package of macaroni (cooked and drained = 4 cups cooked pasta)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Cook pasta while you are browning meat mixture. I did not end up using the entire bag, but I did cook it all and my daughter made pasta salad out of it and took it to school the next day. But I digress…
Brown meat and onion until cooked. Drain fat. Add water, seasoning mix and tomato sauce. Mix well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes uncovered. Stir in macaroni (we use elbow) and 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Pour mixture into a sprayed baking pan and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese on top. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
Serve with a side of sour cream, extra shredded cheese and if you’d like, tortilla chips!
